With another month coming to an end, we are looking back over October and what the Aqua team have been up to. There have been some real highlights this month, including our Protecting Your Financial Future seminar, and Dom, one of Aqua’s directors, speaking on the panel of the Mortgage Strategy Leaders Forum.
If you haven’t already, don’t forget to take a look at the calculators page on the Aqua website. They contain some great tools for working out mortgage affordability, mortgage payments and stamp duty. For general planning, our budget calculator will give you a detailed breakdown of your finances, as well as personalised tips to help you make the most of your money.
SimplyBiz Investment Forum

At the beginning of the month, some of the Aqua advisers attended the SimplyBiz investment forum. It was a busy day packed with interesting talks, but the session that stood out the most was The Vision Of A Sustainable Future. It felt like a very relevant topic, given the news at the moment, and the topics discussed included the different approaches, and the factors driving demand for sustainable investing.
Protecting Your Financial Future Seminar

Last week, Aqua joined up with Bretherton Law, a local solicitors, to host a seminar all about how to protect your financial future. The seminar provided an overview of Inheritance Tax planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney, planning for the possibility of care home fees and the use of trusts, long-term financial planning and pensions and investments.
Mortgage Strategy Leaders Forum

Earlier this month, Dom, one of the Aqua directors, spoke on the panel at the Mortgage Strategy Leaders Forum in London. The panel was named New blood–The Biological Future Of The Industry. Dom spoke about young people joining the industry and the motivation they have for it, the importance of face-to-face communication skills, and also discussed financial education within schools, something that Aqua are keen to improve.
Young Professionals Breakfast & Mind in Mid Herts Talk

The City of Expertise held a fantastic event this month for young professionals in St Albans. It was particularly interesting to hear from Mind in Mid Herts about ‘The Five Ways To Wellbeing’. These steps are a set of evidence-based public mental health messages aimed at improving the mental health and wellbeing of the whole population and they include connecting, learning and giving, and these steps are encouraged to be taken every day.
