Even though it’s not quite December yet, Christmas songs are on the radio and we are already planning our office tree decorations. November has been a very busy month, as you can see below, which has included adviser events and workshops, along with our Aqua team meeting.

PFS Conference

At the beginning of the month, the Personal Finance Society held their regional conference. It was very informative, with a variety of provider presentations, which got everyone talking and sharing their opinions. There were some interesting points from Cornelian on the drivers of portfolio growth in current market conditions, and Zurich on alternative estate and legacy planning.

 

Aqua Team Meeting

Our team meeting fell on the second week of November, and there was much to discuss and organise before the festive season started. It’s always good to get everyone together to talk about updates, interesting points we have heard, and plan for the month ahead – especially the upcoming Christmas party!

 

Investival 

The AJ Bell Investival is always a much looked forward to day, and this year was no different. The Greatest Showman Theme was unexpected for a financial event, but a good surprise and made the day really feel like a show. There were a great selection of speakers, topics and networking opportunities. We already can’t wait for next year.

 

Portfolio Metrix Young Adviser Event

With the average age of a financial adviser in their 50’s, it was really fantastic to discover that Portfolio Metrix was holding a young adviser event. It was great to discuss the opportunities and challenges in the industry with other young advisers, along with examining the Intergenerational Wealth Transfer in more detail, something which is spoken about often at the moment.

 

biz4Biz Awards 2020

Earlier this year we were finalists (and the only financial advisers) in the Best Legal & Financial Services Provider category at the biz4Biz awards. Work Experience Placements

This month marked our last work experience placement of 2019, with our latest student having been with us weekly since September as part of their university course. We feel that it’s so important to give opportunities to young people hoping to start a career within the financial services industry. They gain experience of a working day, being part of a team and also the chance to work on their own individual projects.
