With the end of August almost upon us, it’s time to share what the Aqua team have been up to this past month. In particular, we have been very busy planning our Protecting Your Financial Future seminar which is due to take place in October – see below for details on how to book your free place, and to find out more about what else happened in August.

Protecting Your Financial Future – Free Seminar

In October, Aqua Wealth Management are going to be joining forces with Bretherton Law to present a free seminar – Protecting Your Financial Future. This seminar will provide an overview of Inheritance Tax planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney, planning for the possibility of care home fees and the use of trusts, long-term financial planning and pensions and investments.

This seminar is aimed at people who want to start preparing for a secure future (it’s never too early) during their retirement years, and also people who have already retired and want to ensure that they are financially secure, and that their assets have the best protection available.

The seminar will be held at Verulam Golf Club on Tuesday the 22nd of October 2019 at 3-5pm with a second session at 7-9pm.

Senior Managers & Certification Regime Preparation

With the start date of the new SM&CR regime fast approaching, the Aqua compliance team attended a workshop at the start of the month to ensure that everything is on track. The event was hosted by SimplyBiz, who ran a morning of presentations and worked through a case study with the group. It was good to get our questions answered, chat to other financial advice firms, and find out everything that we need to get in place before December the 9th.

Local Networking Events

Even though it has been the summer holidays, there have been plenty of networking events in St Albans this month. It has been fantastic to meet and find out more about local businesses, and also catch up with some familiar faces. In particular, the St Albans Business Buzz had a wonderful turnout of 35 people, and included an incredibly difficult game of networking bingo, where everyone struggled to complete their card by finding a person who didn’t like chocolate!
